Patience, Fortitude … and Steve

The New York Times today says that Wall Street mega-rich guy Stephen Schwarzman is giving $100 million to the New York Public Library. Bully for Steve. His name is going to be etched onto the walls on either side of the front doors, which seems a little imprudent given the state of the stock market these days, but probably can’t be avoided. (And anyway, they offered him that honor up front in exchange for the donation, part of an initial $250 million in funding, already received, which they hope will kick off a $1 billion expansion of the New York library system.)
